Tips for Perfect Magic Mexican Green Sauce
Adjust the Heat: If you prefer a milder sauce, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño, or use a smaller amount. You can also substitute with a milder pepper, like a poblano, if you want to reduce the heat even more.
Smokier Flavor: If you want an even smokier flavor, you can char the tomatillos and garlic on the grill or over an open flame. This will give the sauce a nice depth and a little extra char.
Make it Creamy: For a creamy version of this sauce, you can blend in a few tablespoons of sour cream or Greek yogurt. This makes it richer and adds a smooth texture, which is perfect for serving with tacos or as a dip.
Adjust Consistency: Depending on how you plan to use the sauce, you can adjust the consistency. For a drizzle over tacos, a thinner consistency works best, while a thicker sauce is great for dipping.
Store & Use: This sauce stores well in the fridge for up to a week. It’s great for meal prep and can be used in so many different ways throughout the week. If it thickens in the fridge, just add a bit of water to loosen it up before using.
